A musical and social club which met between 1779 and 1865 was the Canterbury Catch Club. As a company of community interest and compete in the East Football League of Southern Counties, Canterbury City F.C. reformed in 2007.

Opened on 3 May 1830, and closed in 1953, Canterbury was the terminus of Canterbury & Whitstable which was a pioneer line. Despite stations being to the city centre's west: to the southwest is Canterbury East and to the northwest is Canterbury West, called Canterbury East and Canterbury West, Canterbury has stations.

Playing in the National League 2 South fourth tier, founded in 1926 were Canterbury RFC and became the first club of East Kent to achieve status of National League.

When the school, referring to Henry VIII, acquired its name that is present, the documented history of the school began after the 16th century Monasteries Dissolution. Featuring in the list of top ten schools with most expensive fees, in Canterbury the Kings School in the United Kingdom is one of the top schools that is public.
